Name What Works Podcast
Real stories. Practical tools. A fresh perspective on raising and supporting teens.
The Name What Works Podcast is a place for honest conversations about parenting, adolescence, education, and the people doing meaningful work in the lives of young people.
It is easy to focus on what is going wrong.
The attitude.
The shutdowns.
The anxiety.
The missed assignments.
The conversations that somehow become arguments before you have even finished your first sentence.
Name What Works offers a different place to begin.
Each episode explores what is helping, what is changing, and what parents, teens, educators, and professionals have learned along the way.
Because when you can name what is already working, you are better able to build on it.
What the Podcast Is About
Hosted by educator, author, and award-winning parent and teen coach Ashley Radzat, Name What Works combines practical guidance, developmental insight, personal stories, and conversations with thoughtful guests.

Understanding adolescent development
Communicating with teens without escalating conflict
Building trust and emotional safety
Supporting anxiety, motivation, and confidence
Encouraging responsibility without micromanaging
Helping teens recover from mistakes
Strengthening relationships at home and at school
Recognizing progress that is easy to miss

This is not a podcast about pretending everything is wonderful.
It is about being honest about what is hard while also looking for the strengths, skills, relationships, and small moments of progress that can help create meaningful change.

Interested in Being a Guest?
Name What Works features guests who have a meaningful story, helpful perspective, or practical approach that can support parents, teens, educators, and families.
You do not need to have a perfect story.
You do need to be willing to have an honest conversation about what you have learned and what is making a difference.
Ashley is especially interested in speaking with:
Parents who have discovered a new way to connect with their child or teen
Teens and young adults who want to share their perspective
Educators creating positive change in schools and classrooms
Therapists, coaches, physicians, and youth-development professionals
Authors, researchers, and community leaders
People with personal stories of growth, repair, resilience, or transformation
Professionals offering thoughtful resources for families and young people
What Makes a Strong Guest?
The best conversations are specific, relatable, and useful.
Rather than simply promoting a service or sharing general advice, guests should be prepared to talk about:
A challenge they experienced or observed
What they tried
What changed
What they learned
What is working now
What listeners can take away and apply in their own lives
Apply to Be a Guest
To be considered for the podcast, please complete the guest interest form. Share a little about yourself, the topic you would like to discuss, and what you hope listeners will receive from the conversation.
Submitting the form does not guarantee an invitation, but every application will be thoughtfully reviewed.
You do not have to ignore what is hard.
You simply do not have to let the hardest moment become the whole story.
Join Ashley each week as she shares practical tools and talks with people who are learning how to Name What Works—and build from there.
